11 day Grand tour from Tangier to Marrakech
Itinerary Program
Day 1: Tangier - Chefchaouen
Upon arrival, You will meet your driver from Admirable Morocco Tours company at the port/airport or hotel that will drive you to Chefchauen through the Rif mountains, on our arrival we’ll transfer you to your hotel to drop off your luggage and free time to discover this Blue City of Chefchaouen with its white washed walls and blue doors and windows its history and hidden gems. There is plenty to see and some fabulous shopping with many artists and handcraft producing work exclusive to this town. Chefchaouen was occupied by Spain therefore there is much influence from the Spanish civilization and Moorish…Overnight at riad with breakfast.
Day 2: Chefchauen - Akchour waterfalls
After having breakfast at your hotel we’ll do a day trip to Akchour one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Morocco in the Rif mountains. This series of waterfalls is a lot calmer and less visited, Akchour is located only 45 min by car from the blue city, We’ll do some hiking to discover the area and spend time to admire the nature you can also swim if you are visiting in Summer months. After that we will have lunch at a local restaurant and then in the afternoon we’ll drive back to Chefchaouen drop you off at your hotel.
Day 3: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes
Today, we will continue our trip to Fes via the archaeological site of Volubilis where you can explore famous Roman ruins in Morocco (UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997). Then we head to Meknes the Ismaili capital of Morocco. In Meknes, you will visit the fascinating gate Bab Mansour built by the sultan My Ismail; the granary and the Sahrij Souani that they used for irrigation and plantation. Your visit includes also the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After lunch, we will drive to Fez, Night at Hotel/Riad.
Day 4: Fes Sightseeing
After breakfast in your riad the local guide will start the tour of Fez to explore this city, you will visit the old Jewish quarter called Mellah, and the Royal palace gate yard, where you will learn about Jewish history in Morocco. Your visit includes the tile art factory and then a wonderful panoramic view of the town, after that, You will start with a walking tour within the narrow streets, visiting the famous old Tanneries, and then the Quaraouine Mosque and the University which is the oldest university in the world, the Attarin Medersa and the Najjarin Fountain and after the tour, we drive you back to your riad.
Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar forest – Middle atlas – Ziz valley – Merzouga
Today after having a fully healthy breakfast we will head towards our favorite destination Merzouga Sahara desert via the Middle Atlas mountains such an alluring view of nature. We’ll stop at the city of Ifrane popularly known as “Morocco’s Little Switzerland”. We will drive through Azrou where we’ll stop to see the Barbary monkeys, we cross the middle atlas and arrival to Midelt where we’ll have lunch, then we’ll continue our trip towards Ziz valley and Erfoud. We transfer you to Merzouga. Dinner and overnight at a hotel overlooking Erg Chebbi dunes.
Day 6: Merzouga sightseeing tour
After watching the sunrise you will have breakfast and take shower at the camp and your desert trip with Admirable Morocco Tours continues you will do an excursion by 4×4 around Erg Chebbi dunes while passing by : oasis of Hassi labied , the village of KHAMLIA, mines of MIFISS, Dayt Sarji, We’ll visit also Berber nomads in their tent to share a glass of mint tea and learn about their lifestyle in the Sahara…then in the afternoon we’ll come back to your hotel in Merzouga, Dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 7: Merzouga Desert - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley & Gorge
After breakfast at your hotel your desert tour with Admirable Morocco Tours company continues we will drive towards Rissani/Tafilalet to explore its weekly market, where the Alaouite dynasty of Morocco is originally from. We will head to the Todgha Gorge, we visit also the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night, Dinner, and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 8 : Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait ben Haddou - High atlas - Marrakech
Today after breakfast at your hotel we’ll continue our trip direction to Marrakech via Valley of Roses and Skoura palm grove then to Ouarzazate where we’ll visit the movie studio and Taourirt Kasbah. We continue to Ait-Ben-Haddou where you will visit local kasbah one of the most famous fortified cities in the world. We will cross Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260 m) where we’ll make stops to enjoy panoramic views and authentic Berber villages, take pictures…arrival to Marrakech in the late afternoon/evening transfer you to your hotel in Marrakech.
Day 9 : Marrakech Sightseeing Tour
After breakfast your local guide will come to your riad to start your guided city tour to explore the red city of Marrakech and its main attractions such as the Koutoubia Minaret, Sardines tombs, Bahia Palace, The square of Jamaa el Fna and its souks, and after lunch your driver will take you to visit the amazing Majorelle Gardens in the new part of the city called Gueliz we’ll drop you off at your hotel/riad and after that You will have free time to walk around by yourself.
Day 10: Day Trip to Essaouira and back to Marrakech
After breakfast we will pick you up from your hotel and travel to Essaouira on the coast that called before Mogador also since this is the land of Argan this is an opportunity to visit the women’s cooperative of Argan oil where they extract the oil that is famous for its culinary, cosmetic and medical properties, we’ll have a chance also to see the goats climbing the argan trees…we will be in Essaouira and free time to explore this a beautiful town, its old medina, beach… afterward we’ll have lunch and then in the late afternoon, we’ll head back to Marrakech. Overnight stay at your Riad.
Day 11 : Transfer to airport
Today is your last day with the Admirable Morocco Tours team we’ll transfer you from your hotel to the Menara airport in Marrakech or Casablanca airport and our 11 Morocco tour from Tangier ends.
