5 Day Sahara desert tour from Fes to Marrakech
Itinerary Program
Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Middle atlas - Zizi Valley - Camel Trek & Night at Merzouga desert camp
Today after having a fully healthy breakfast we will head towards our favorite destination Merzouga Sahara desert via the Middle Atlas mountains such an alluring view of nature. We’ll stop at the city of Ifrane popularly known as “Morocco’s Little Switzerland”. We will drive through Azrou where we’ll stop to see the Barbary monkeys, cross the middle atlas, and arrive at Midelt where we’ll have lunch, then we’ll continue our trip towards Ziz valley and Erfoud. We transfer you to Merzouga, where we experience the Sahara desert in a popular camel ride to watch the sunset over the golden Erg Chebbi dunes and spend the night in a desert camp under shining stars after having dinner and listening to some Berber music.
Day 2: 4x4 Tour to discover Merzouga desert area
This morning we recommended you to awake up to contemplate one of the most beautiful sunrises you have even seen on top of a dune near the camp, after having breakfast and shower at the camp you can come back either by camels or 4WD drive to the original started location where you will meet your driver and start your 4×4 excursion to explore all interesting sites around Erg Chebbi desert such as the Berber nomad families, M’ifis fossils mines, Khamlia the village where you will see the dark skin people playing their traditional Gnawa music, seasonal Dayt Serji, Oasis, panoramic views…after lunch we’ll head back to the hotel in Merzouga where you will spend the night.
Day 3 : Merzouga Desert - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley & Gorge
After breakfast at your hotel your desert tour with Admirable Morocco Tours company continues we will drive towards Rissani/Tafilalet to explore its weekly market, where the Alaouite dynasty of Morocco is originally from. We will head to the Todgha Gorge, we visit also the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night, Dinner, and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Boutaghrar – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we return to the Dades Valley and take the road to Boutaghrar where all the colors of nature meet each other. Our way is the route of a thousand kasbahs, here the road travels through the kasbahs and ksour, the Valley of Roses, and the Skoura palm grove. There is an option to visit the Kasbah Amredhyle. We will also visit Kasbah Taourirt and film Studios and drop you off at the hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 5 : Ouarzazate – Ait ben Haddou – High atlas moutains – Marrakech
We’ll depart from Ouarzazate the city is famous for its kasbahs, including the Taourirt World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful palaces in the region. We’ll continue to Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. After the visit, we will continue to cross the High Atlas Mountains, its spectacular landscapes, and the hidden Berber villages at the foot of the immense valleys. (Optional: we can have lunch in a local restaurant of the tichka pass), otherwise, we will continue to Marrakech drop you off at your hotel/riad, and end your 5-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech with Admirable Morocco Tours.
