8 Day Sahara tour from Casablanca to Marrakech
Itinerary Program
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes - Fes
After we met at the place where we had agreed. we will start our tour via Rabat, we will visit the Old Kasbah of Udayas and Hassan Tower, Meknes, another important imperial city in Morocco. We will also visit the famous gate Bab El Mansour, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, and the Sahrij Souani, then we continue to Fez. Overnight in a Hotel/Riad.
Day 2: Fes guided city tour
After breakfast, you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter, the first Mellah ever built-in Morocco built during the 14th century. We will ensure that you visit all sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University considered the oldest one in the world, the Tanneries, and Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After a full day of exploring Fes, we stay overnight at the hotel/riad.
Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga desert
We will pick you up from your Riad/hotel then drive south to Ifrane and Azrou through the Middle Atlas mountains. On the way, we will stop at the cedar forests to see the Barbarian Apes in their natural habitat. Traveling through the Tizi N-Talghamt passes to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, you’ll see views of the Middle-Atlas plateau and the scenery changing to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia. After lunch, we will continue our journey through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani till we reach Merzouga before the sunset. Overnight stay at hotel in Merzouga.
Day 4: 4x4 Tour to explore Erg Chebbi desert area
After having breakfast at your hotel your driver will pick up you and start your 4×4 excursion to explore all interesting sites around Erg Chebbi desert such as the Berber nomad families, M’ifis fossils mines, Khamlia the village where you will see the dark skin people playing their traditional Gnawa music, seasonal Day Serji, Oasis, panoramic views…after lunch we’ll head back to the hotel in Merzouga where we will start the camel ride to the camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes where you will spend the night under the starry sky of the Sahara.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
This morning we recommended you to awake up to contemplate one of the most beautiful sunrises you have even seen on top of a dune near the camp, after having breakfast and shower at the camp you can come back either by camels or 4WD drive to the original started location where you will meet your driver and continue your journey towards Tinghir city then the Todra Gorges, one of the most famous canyon in Morocco, a walk there will be provided with an opportunity to visit a nomad family lives in a cave. By the end of the day we arrive in Dades Valley one of the beautiful valleys in the south of Morocco where we stop for overnight.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas mountain – Marrakech
This morning, we’ll continue our tour towards Ouarzazate through the path of a thousand Kasbahs (fortress) stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, the center of the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual Rose Festival.
after a few pictures in Ouarzazate sites, we continue to the Unesco World Heritage site, the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, famous for being used as a filming location for Hollywood movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and for the famous HBO series Game of Thrones.
We’ll then take the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass 2260M hight to Marrakesh, where our tour ends.
Day 7: Marrakech Guided city tour
After breakfast in the riad, we start our journey sightseeing the city of Marrakech “the red city of Morocco”, it was founded in the XII century by the Almoravidian dynasty. We will visit the most important cultural and historical heritage. You will have a great chance to explore Saadiyin Tomb, Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Mosque (Tower). Moreover, our guide will lead you to see Bahia square, the Souk of the city, and then you go to join the famous square of the medina where you will see and discover the fascinating serpent’s magician, “funny seminars” where some professional or humorous people tell fabulous and nice jokes. In the afternoon, you will have free time to walk around and discover other places in the city by yourself.
Day 8 : Marrakech airport
Today, you will have free time to do whatever you want in Marrakech until the convenient time of your flight and we will transfer you from your hotel to Menara airport of Marrakech and your 8-day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech ends with Admirable Morocco Tours company.
